Today is World Day for Laboratory Animals and all this week is World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week
As animal lovers working to create a kinder, safer world for animals, any animal cruelty is a complete no-go at Ingenious Probiotics. All our Provilan probiotic products are 100% vegan and manufactured with compassion for animals. They are certified by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). This means no animal tests have been or ever will be conducted or commissioned on any ingredients, formulations, or finished products.

Celebrate compassion: the move towards cruelty-free cleaning
The decline of animal testing: a step forward
The good news is that animal testing is on the decline. More companies are responding to ethical concerns and new regulations. In the UK, all forms of animal testing for household cleaning products were banned in 2015. However, the RSPCA still has concerns. While ‘end product’ animal testing is rare, testing on individual ingredients to ensure consumer safety still occurs. This loophole means that some substances, like cleaning chemicals, are still tested on animals to to satisfy other legislation such as the EU Chemicals Regulation (REACH).
As a result, animals are sometimes still used to test if inhaling, ingesting or just being exposed to a chemical product or ingredient damages health.
Hidden cruelty: the unseen impact of animal testing
Unfortunately, animal testing isn’t just limited to mice. Dogs, cats, rabbits, frogs, fish, and even farm animals suffer in the name of product safety. Testing can lead to severe consequences, including:
- Toxicity and long-term illness
- Skin sensitivity, pain, allergic reactions, burns
- Eye damage
- Reproductive issues, pregnancy complications, and birth defects
And it’s not always easy to know which brands still engage in these practices. Some well-known brands still use animal testing, while others have cruelty-free products but are owned by parent companies that test on animals.
Cruelty-Free Soul (https://crueltyfreesoul.com/animal-tested-cleaning-products/) lists some of the well-known brands that still use animal testing.
You may be surprised by some of the names on the list; some newer brands that are genuinely cruelty-free have larger parent companies that still test on animals.
The probiotic solution: compassionate cleaning (and pet care)
The good news? Probiotic cleaning products offer a compassionate alternative. These products are not tested on animals and do not cause harmful side effects. You can easily swap out your chemical-based hand soap, washing up liquid, floor cleaner, air freshener, and kitchen and bathroom sprays for probiotic versions that are safe for all.
Our Provilan range goes beyond cleaning; it supports a healthier environment without harming animals.
Plus, our probiotic pet care products meet the same ethical standards and are also PETA certified as vegan and cruelty-free.
